Four Fates Show

FOUR FATES is a series consisting of four different themes represented by four ‘fates’ or deities, coinciding with a time period from my life. The four themes are The Child, The Virgin, The Demon and The Queen. Inspiration for these themes came from my experiences growing up, and vivid memories associated with these periods such as the animals I was obsessed with during childhood, my need to camouflage myself in my adolescence, discovering my depression and inner demons as a young adult, and finally accepting my full self and my whole personality later on.

The Child, the first fate pictured below is bold, curious, humorous and obsessed with nature and animals. The Child is made up of the first memories of discovering color and shapes I had as a kid, that stuck with me throughout my life.

The Virgin represents adolescences and prepubescent youth. This theme is naive and uncertain of her identity but ready to find out more about life. This fate represents trying to blend in with those around me during my teenage years, by living in a meadowy camouflaged atmosphere, but also rebelling by smelling the curious flowers of life to further discover who I really was.

The Demon is dark and foreboding, it is the devil on my shoulder telling me to do bad things and think bad thoughts during my early 20s. Surrounded by the abyss of depression, nightmares and existential crisis the Demon represents the darkness that lives within all of us, and who I have a very close relationship with. Without darkness there is no light.

The Queen is the final and fourth fate, exuding power, confidence and self love. It represents the final stage of growing up and accepting myself for who I truly am, and who I was always meant to be. It is about showing the same love to others that I show myself, and having a blast existing in my honesty.
